Cormac Ashgrove
Partner, school discipline
Cormac takes the calls that can’t wait: suspensions, expulsions and the hearings in between.
Cormac came to education law from a public defender’s office, where he saw how often a school removal came before a court case. He joined Tsion to work on the school side, earlier, when there’s still time to change the outcome.
He handles the firm’s discipline cases: long suspensions, expulsion hearings, manifestation determination reviews and appeals of school board decisions.

Working with Cormac
Cormac talks with the student before anyone else does, with a parent in the room. He’d rather hear the hard version first than in front of a hearing panel.
He keeps his phone on during the school day for families with a hearing that week.
Talk with Cormac about a hearing
Call or write to the office, and ask for Cormac by name.
A first call doesn’t make us your lawyers; a signed engagement letter does.
